Iiiiiiit’s the middle of September already. How. In. The. Heck. I love this time of year, though. The leaves are starting to change in my neck of the woods and the mornings are chilly and we’re starting to sleep with the windows open again. FALLELUJAH.
I tend to think of Fall as a prelude to the new year. It just feels brand new. It makes me want to start new routines and rhythms, but still slow down and savor. Especially since Tyler and I will be welcoming a new baby in November, I definitely want to take September and October to just chill. My calendar is looking pretty empty, which I’m 100% okay with.
Here’s an update on how my goals for August went and then what I’m planning on for September:
Meet with my mom and mother-in-law about the baby shower. Yep! Everything is planned and invites have been sent out. I’m actually pretty excited for this. Mostly because then I’ll be feeling more prepared after we get some more of the essentials! Send baby shower invites. DONE. Sign up for childbirth class. Also done! This will be in the beginning of October. I’m not super excited about it, honestly, but our doctor recommended going. 😉 Celebrate Allie + Alec’s wedding. Yes! And it was so much fun! It rained most of the day, but it was so romantic and laid back. It was so nice to just hang out with friends and family. This preggo was real tired the next day, though! Girls day in Appleton. YES! Another fun outing. My mom, older sister, younger sister, and I headed out of town to get mani/pedis, eat some delicious food, and do a touch of shopping. As a little bachelorette party for Allie. We decided that it needs to happen more often!
Finish off wedding season with a bang. Van and I have two more weddings this season and then we’re done. Hallelujah! As much as I love shooting weddings, it’ll be nice to be done for the year.
Celebrate Baby Van Ert with friends and family. My baby shower is this month and I’m so excited about it. Normally, I hate them, but I’m excited for good food, some quality hang out time, and some essentials for our new little one.
Send baby shower thank you’s. I want to do this right away so I don’t have to worry about it later!
Meet Lauren IRL. Y’all, my internet friend Lauren is about to be my real life friend too. We’ve known each other for a handful of years online, but she and her Packer-fan hubby are making their way to the Motherland (AKA Lambeau Field), so they’ll be in my vicinity. CAN’T WAIT.
Get maternity + newborn pictures with Chloe on the calendar. This is in the works, I just want to make sure I don’t drop the ball! I’m super excited for this because Chloe is THE BEST.
Start evening/morning routines. Y’all, I have been so bad in the mornings. I’ve been sleeping in until 7:40 when I have to leave my house at 8:15. NOT. GOOD. Then I just end up rushing around and only sometimes packing my lunch and it’s just a mess. I want to get an evening rhythm in place so that I can feel more prepared for the mornings.
I’m going to try just having monthly goals for this month and see what happens. I’ve been feeling a little overwhelmed with daily and even weekly goals, so this should be a nice breath of fresh air for me.
