How far along are you? 32 weeks on September 11. I’m officially to the point where I feel like we’re SO CLOSE but SO FAR AWAY.
How big is baby? Baby is the size of a squash – about 16.6 inches and 3.75 pounds. According to my app, baby is most likely moving into the head down position at this point and has developed his digestive system!
How are you feeling? Achier and achier as the days go on. I’m still trying to stay as active as possible, though, because I know that’s important! My ribs are the most annoying because they hurt pretty much no matter what I’m doing other than standing. – and who wants to be standing all the time? Not this girl! Heartburn/acid reflux is still a thing. I’m also getting more tightness in my belly when I’m active, but nothing super uncomfortable.
Movement: He’s an active one still! Because he doesn’t have as much room as before, my belly moves around with him more often which is so bizarre, but cool! There have been times now where I can very obviously feel a foot or an elbow or something, which is, again, so bizarre, but very cool.
Any cravings or aversions? No new cravings right now.
Nursery Progress: Slowly, but surely, we’re making some progress. The walls have been painted, the clothes we already have organized in the closet (not washed yet, but at least hung up), and a DIY project almost finished. You can read my post about our progress HERE.
Maternity Clothes: I finally got a second pair of maternity jeans from PinkBlush (I’ve been meaning to for awhile now!), so that’s helpful. It’s starting to get to the point where I put on some of my clothes and they definitely don’t fit or just aren’t flattering, which is kind of depressing. I’m going to go through my closet/dresser and take out everything that doesn’t currently fit and store it somewhere so I don’t have to be disappointed when getting dressed in the morning!
Weight Gain/Stretch Marks: At my 32 week appointment, I had gained 12 pounds. Still no stretch marks.
Sleep: Oh, sleep. It’s started to become more and more evasive. I’ve been waking up more often. Sometimes it’s because of heartburn that gets agitated when I move around in my sleep. Other times I just am wide awake for a few hours in the middle of the night (usually between 2-5am). Some nights I just wake up 4 or 5 times and then fall asleep right away again. Nonetheless… it’s been harder and harder to get out of bed in the morning!
Doctor Appointment: Everything is looking good so far still. I’m on track for healthy weight gain, which I’m grateful for. I’ve been taking my iron supplement and prenatal [somewhat 😉 ] faithfully. I asked about heartburn and she gave me her recommendations for treating/preventing it. We talked a little bit about plans for labor and delivery (I probably won’t go over this in-depth at any point until my birth story, but I’m planning on trying my hardest for a natural birth, but will not be upset if it doesn’t happen] and about my plans to breastfeed, which my doctor is excited about! She then gave me her recommendations for a pediatrician so we could decide that soon.
WHAT HAVE WE BEEN UP TO?
Tyler has been scouting his hunting spots for this season. Bow season starts September 16 and he’s super excited about it! Normally he goes to his parents’ land, but hasn’t had any luck since 2009 with getting a deer. He’s been scouring the internet for public spots the last couple weeks, so we’ve been out walking around in the woods checking them out. He feels pretty confident that this year will be his year!
We spent a day out camping with my dad’s family for the 6th annual Mancl Family Campout! This is one of my favorite days of the year. Every year at the end of August/beginning of September, we get together for a weekend campout. I usually stay with my sister and her family in their camper, but I was not about that life this year. 😉 Tyler and I went out for most of the day on Saturday and we watched the tail end of the cornhole tourney, ate at the potluck, and sat by the campfire and ate s’mores. LIFE. IS. GOOD.
Van and I had photographed our second-to-last wedding! This one wasn’t too far of a drive for me, which is nice. It was a hot day, but we stayed hydrated and had some downtime, so I wasn’t on my feet the whole day. Overall, it was a really fun wedding! Several people asked me when I am due and responses were pretty much 50/50. Half of people said something along the lines of, “2 more months?! You’re really going to be huge by then!” and the other half said, “Only 2 months?! You’re so tiny!” It’s just funny how different people’s perspectives of how someone “should” look while pregnant are.
